Kreative Korner:

D.I.Y. by M.E.E.

What do you get when you take...

a handful of rings

and extra jewelry findings

First I have to sketch out, what I think; I might want this to look like.

I'm going to use these copper headpins to wrap around the rings

like.so. I proceed to wrap all the rings according to my sketch

now...for the next part of my design

I'm going to use this left-over leather cord to wrap the rings in the opposite direction.

I tie a knot in the first two rings going in the opposite direction of the copper wrapped rings.

now that this part is complete, I krazy-glue the knots so that they don't un-ravel.  In retrospect I probably should've used hot(crafters) glue...

Once dry, I cut off all the loose ends.

I have this crazy idea to use fresh cinnamon sticks instead of jump-rings as connectors.

and as predicted...the cinnamon sticks have naturally dried around the rings, leaving a second hole to thread my chain through...PERFECT!!!

I bought wire cutters and a round of wire to create the part that will actually go around my neck.

I cut two seperate lengths of wire, because I need it to be somewhat sturdy.

I hold both ends of the wire with a strong set of plyers, and proceed to simply twist both pieces with my hand, all the way to the end.

I fed/pulled the twisted wire through the top holes of the cinnamon sticks, and created a loop and hook at the end of both wires to fasten it around my neck.

Dear Homemade Sinnamon Stik necklace:

How I do luv thee.  Let me count the ways...
10, 20, 30,...
80, 90, 'hunnerd

*I smell ah'rat*

...hidden talent maybe?

i'll keep you posted...

What do you get, when you take...

1 old hag

I mean...bag...

that has seen it's day, but has beautiful hardware

so I proceed to cut away the hardware from the rest of the bag

*sigh*...this gon' take a minute

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

*drool*

*stank breaf*

#done #nowwhat???

First, I have to remove the hardware that's attached to the zipper

I use small hand pliers to remove this piece

Once it's removed, I simply cut it in half

As you can see it's worn from wear and tear.  So I'm painting black polish over the worn parts.

Once dry; I add fish hook ear wires and jump rings to connect the pieces

 *yes dar'lin*

I've trimmed down the excess fabric that was surrounding these pieces to give it a clean finish.

I bought these metal rings to connect the pieces.  They're easily removable, because this piece will perform double duty.

I'm going to use this spool of leather cord to make fringes.

I take several strands of cord, that I've cut to the length that I want; looped them together, and pulled them thru the first ring

I take the ends of the cords and proceed to feed them thru the loop.

first set of fringes done; I attach three more sets of fringes to complete the look

#done
because the fringes were curly from being wrapped around the spool, I had to cover them with fabric and iron over them; to straighten them out.  Now they're poker straight.

my d.i.m. belt
(did.it.myself)

and on those days when i'm feelin' #rachet, I disconnect; and it becomes a choker.

#bondage

#notreally

now what should I do with the left-overs?
